Infants (Six Weeks to One Year)*
Our infant centers have been designed for maximum efficiency, security and safety. Toys are sterilized daily and changing tables are sterilized after each diaper is changed.
Changing tables always face out so that caregivers never have their back to the babies. A thirteen step diaper changing procedure is strictly adhered to. In a warm and nurturing environment, our babies are cuddled, rocked and played with by carefully chosen caregivers.
Each caregiver is dressed in clean, colorful hospital scrubs. For the protection of each baby, we do not allow street shoes and every adult must sanitize their hands before entering our infant center.
Your baby will have a personal crib and cubby where clothing, bedding, food and bottles can be stored away from other children.
Nursing mothers are able to nurse on the center premises in a clean private area comfortably seated in a glider. Play is based on exploration, stimulation and sensory. Music plays a big part in this adorable nursery. Your baby will be in a very special place, because after all, your baby deserves a special place like The Learning Experience®.

Caring for infants as young as six weeks of age is a tremendous responsibility. We take that responsibility very seriously. We have spent years developing an infant program that is well thought out. Every detail has been meticulously planned from the design of the infant center to the selection of equipment, toys, curriculum and activities to the screening and training of infant caregivers.

Parents can rely on our loving, dedicated staff of infant caregivers, chosen for their warmth and affectionate personalities. They provide nurturing, age appropriate stimulation and lots of love.
Music, including classical, is played in the infant center daily. Recent studies have shown the enhanced effect of music on babies. They say music unlocks the creative spirit and strengthens the mind (The Mozart Effect).
Infant rooms are packed with toys and equipment similar to the toys and equipment you have at home for your baby. Caregivers sit on gliders while holding, cuddling and feeding our little ones. There is even a private nursing station for Moms. The Learning Experience® (TLE) Infant Centers are immaculate, colorful, well equipped, safe environments. Parents feel self-assured and confident that their infant is being cared for in the most loving way.

Each baby has his or her own crib.
Cribs are NEVER shared at TLE.
Parents are asked to place their shoes in a personal "shoe cubby" at the infant center entrance so that they can quickly slip on a foot cover before entering the infant center.
Infant caregivers are required to wear TLE hospital scrubs. Infant caregivers never wear street clothes when caring for our infants.
Keeping the infant environment sanitized and disinfected is important and we have put definitive procedures in place to insure cleanliness. Staff is required to adhere to all sanitary measures. Toys and cribs are disinfected nightly.
Changing tables are disinfected after each individual diaper is changed. Caregivers are required to wear gloves and place a specially designed sanitary paper on the changing pad before each baby's diaper is changed. Diapers are placed in plastic bags before being deposited in a lined diaper pail which is emptied several times a day.
A typical day in the infant center includes the following activities:

Nightly reports are ready for parents at pick-up time. They reflect, in detail, everything that goes on during the day including new and exciting developments, diaper changes and feedings. These reports, known as Baby Talk, are invaluable to busy parents.

The Learning Experience® (TLE) serves both morning and afternoon snacks that are nutritious and "child friendly". Snacks are prepared in a licensed and approved on site kitchen facility. When lunch is provided, it is prepared by a licensed cook from menus approved by a registered dietician.
TLE is sensitive to dietary needs of our multi-cultural society. Parents are asked to indicate upon enrollment if there are any food restrictions and or food allergies that apply to their children. The center complies with all local health ordinances, inspections and state recommended guidelines regarding children's nutrition.
A cook is hired to prepare lunch when the center's enrollment has reached 75 children eating table food. New centers may not offer lunch programs upon opening. In that case, parents send in home-made lunches. Refrigeration is provided if needed.
